One of the first lessons Jack and I had was about how home-schooling is something that interests other people a great deal, so they will ask a lot of questions about it; they don't mean to be insulting, they're just curious (something kids can certainly understand).

We wore yellow or blue polo shirts (because we found them for a buck-fifty at Walmart) as our "uniform." I don't know about your school district but ours actually gives out "student ID cards" to home-schooled students. This lets them take advantage of student prices as well as participating in school-based things like PE or music.

Also: you can get a teacher discount at school supply stores, did you know that?Sivahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14049230194162270066noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-368780622846996625.post-31655451104456324902010-08-17T11:52:21.816-07:002010-08-17T11:52:21.816-07:00As a new homeschooling mother, I've yet to exp...As a new homeschooling mother, I've yet to experience people asking why my kids aren't in school. Do they really do that?! I've heard it's a good idea to to even go so far as to make "school ID cards" to carry, stating the name of your "school"... Having them wear some sort of uniform while in town seems like it might be a good idea, though. I'm excited to get this year started!Maggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11262854124330889436noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-368780622846996625.post-62826860331112806462010-08-17T10:19:15.932-07:002010-08-17T10:19:15.932-07:00LOL - reminds me of Peter's first day at schoo...LOL - reminds me of Peter's first day at school, when he decided that "mother" was an optional device greatly overrated! Once again, Millie, Mollie, Maggie and May rule! The raising kid experience is always unique!molliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03894607486959806135noreply@blogger.com
